New Jobs for Tree Swenson, Carole Goldberg, Christine Thomas

By Jane Ciabattari

Congratulations to NBCC members with new jobs/blogs/columns!

Tree Swenson, who has been the Executive Director of the Academy of American Poets for the past ten years, is moving to Seattle, where she will become the new Director of Richard Hugo House, a literary center on Capitol Hill that offers classes, residencies, and events.

Carole Goldberg,  former Books Editor at the Hartford Courant, has added to her freelance work for the paper a twice-weekly blog for the Hartford Public Library called Under the Covers, about new acquisitions there. Comments welcome.

Christine Thomas has begun  a new column in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser called “On My Shelf”– her picks for new and notable books relevant to a Hawaii audience. If anyone knows of new titles by Hawaii-connected authors or about relevant subjects (i.e. Rapa Nui, school lunch, the ocean, and so on), feel free to let her know: chistine@literarylotus.com
