Question for Guest Posts: How Do You Decide What to Read Next?

By Jane Ciabattari

Here is Question #3 in our Next Decade in Book Culture series of guest posts. (Check out the first here and the second, “Adventures in e-Reading,” here.)

How do you decide what to read next? Where are the reviewers you trust and pay attention to? The landscape changes daily. How do you decide what to read next? Where are you reading book reviews? What book reviewers/literary bloggers do you follow? Where do you find their commentary and criticism? Do you read about books: online? in print? in daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly publications? On the radio? On podcasts? Video? Word of mouth (if so, whose word?) All of the above?

Have you found new sources within the past few months?

Do you pay most attention to “in brief” or long-form reviews? Be as specific as you can. Send your guest posts to janeciab@gmail.com.
