I Was Told There’d be Cake

By NBCC

Speaking of creative book publicity, author Sloane Crosley (known to many NBCC members as uber-publicist at Vintage/Random House) has created a very unique website for her first book.  It features, among other things, a book trailer starring a pair of fingers that wear pants and use the toilet; also several fascinating dioramas that represent the stories in her book—a collection of essays repeatedly being compared to David Sedaris, Dorothy Parker, Sarah Vowell. and Mary Tyler Moore.  File that one under books-I’m-looking-forward-to-reading …

As an aside, the guy who did Crosley’s book trailer is doing some pretty interesting work in that department.
